We live in a remarkable cultural age that provides abundant options for every aspect of our lives. This brings a complexity and distraction to our days and souls, making us less capable of determining what we really want and need. In the midst of such chaos, our culture becomes enslaved to false identities. Even as we strive to keep up appearances of confidence and success, we often find ourselves adrift in disorientation and insecurity. Within us all is a deep longing to discover what it means to truly live, to be fully human, to step into our original design.
One of the most important tasks of our apprenticeship to Jesus is discovering who we are. Knowing who God created you to be is a profound realization for every follower of Jesus. In our third season of The Way Gatherings, we will take a 6-month journey exploring how Jesus uniquely shapes and guides the discovery of our identity and calling. Together, we will seek to align our understanding of identity within our life with Jesus, and learn to discover the unique calling that emerges as we reorder our lives under Jesus. This is a courageous path that leads us to reconciling our past in ways that can reshape our future.
Join us this fall, as we engage teachings, conversations and practices together for the sake of learning to step into the full life God has offered to each one of us.
This year’s Way Retreat is a chance for those interested in diving deeper into the conversations of apprenticing ourselves to Jesus. Whether you have been on the journey with us for several years, a few months or are brand new, this retreat is for you. Through a combination of teaching, silence and solitude, prayer, and worship, we will practice a rhythm of slowing down to hear what God might be saying in our lives in this season of life and celebrate together.

The mission of Vanguard University is to pursue knowledge, cultivate character, deepen faith, and equip each student for a Spirit-empowered life of Christ-centered leadership and service. We believe these ends are most fruitful when church and organizations collaborate with one another and so we are committed to the local church and to thriving local communities. By partnering with The Way, we hope to facilitate a space for churches and for the VU community (students, staff and faculty alike) to begin to practice the way of Jesus and to discover the abundant, full life that is found in Jesus.
THE WAY is a ministry of Floodways, a non-profit focused on helping leaders and churches of Orange County discover more in Christ
